Shark River Bascule Bridge

Skilled burners torch cut a section of the heavy bascule bridge end girder. Careful rigging and accurate load calculations were required to lower the girder and attached deck section safely. A flame retardant tarp was attached to the back of the girder to prevent torch sparks and slag from falling onto pleasure boats in the channel below.
