Brandenburg employees use specialized equipment to reduce disposal costs and increase salvage sale revenue through the recycling of construction debris. Brandenburg processes over 220,000 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap per year at its facilities in Pennsylvania and Indiana. Brandenburg owns and operates portable X-Ray Fluorescence scanners to provide onsite scrap chemistry analysis. The company ships scrap via trucks, barges, and railcars directly to the country’s major iron and steel producers. Brandenburg’s central scrap management operations are ISO 9001 certified. Brandenburg utilizes an established network of used equipment dealers as well as an extensive industrial customer base to maximize salvage equipment sales. Brandenburg provides rigging and transportation services for the removal and delivery of salvaged equipment.

Site Preparation

Brandenburg’s engineers utilize civil 3-D Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) programs to create accurate terrain models for earthwork projects. Areas and volumes are calculated with some of the most advanced survey equipment on the market. In conjunction with the CAD software, the survey equipment such as Robotic Total Stations and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are used to perform precise surveys and document important locations of the site. Background maps and Digital Terrain Models (DTM) are utilized to accurately navigate specific elements of the site and accurately determine the designed grades of the entire project.

Brandenburg owns and operates specialized equipment that is adapted for the demolition and removal of below grade structures including foundations, grade beams, pile caps, and piling of all types. The company also specializes in excavation projects which involves difficult access, variable soil conditions, and hard-to excavate materials.

Tank Decommissioning

Brandenburg provides full tank decommissioning through permitting, cleaning, purging, removal, and demolition of both above and below grade tanks.

Emergency Response

Brandenburg plays an essential role in emergency response situations and have assisted first-responders on numerous emergency situations including structural collapses, fires, and disasters. Some of these projects include the crane collapse at Milwaukee’s Miller Park Stadium, the parking garage collapse in Atlantic City, the Pilsen fire located in Chicago, the New York City September 11th disaster, and the Mississippi tornado clean-up.

Some of the emergency services that Brandenburg can provide include consultation, specialized equipment, skilled labor, and expert structural engineering. The combination of owning specialized equipment and having employees that are experienced in working with compromised structures can prove to be vital when dealing with situations that require rescuing and protecting people.

Brandenburg actively participates in preparation, training, and awareness for emergency situations. Some of our project sites accommodated emergency response agencies for training exercises. Brandenburg has conducted presentations at various first-responder seminars to make them aware of the services our company can provide to assist them in these types of situations.
