Project Info:

Brandenburg was contracted by the University of Notre Dame to complete the selective demolition of the old press box and hospitality structure above the precast stadium and partial demolition of the stairway and elevator systems, while the campus remained opened. Perimeter structure protection included scaffolding installation and catch decks on all sides of the press box. Airborne dust emissions were controlled using dust suppression systems throughout the removal activities. Following the removal of all equipment and ductwork, a systematic approach was utilized by crews to dismantle the three-story steel and concrete press box structure. Starting at the roof of the press box, the entire structure was taken down in sections, oor by oor, and lowered to the ground for processing and recycling. Stringent control measures, careful planning, and a collective effort by every person onsite were key elements to sustaining a safe environment and completing the project successfully.
